Quiet and beautiful hotel with authentic single-story 16th C. Portugese villa atmosphere. Rooms interesting and comfortable, arranged around series of tropical garden courtyards. Excellent pool and relaxing facilites. Food very good. Service relaxed but attentive. Excellent location in old part of Paraty. Private parking.

The best things about Pousada Pardieiro were the location, setting inside the hotel, and the breakfast. The Pousada is located in the Old Town. The setting inside the hotel is very beautiful, lots of plants, birds, pool, many areas to sit and relax, read, or watch tv.
The hotel is very expensive and fancy. It was more luxury than we needed. The entrance to the hotel is extremely difficult to find. If we did not ask where it was at the visitor's station as we entered town, we would never have found it.

Everything was impeccable. From the design of the hotel, to the gardens, to the room. Lovely place.

The location was great, the staff were very helpful and yet unobtrusive. The setting of the rooms in the Pousada are distributed in separate buildings, giving an impression of space. Although the accomodation was full, it was very peacful.

Great staff that was always helpful even if it didn't seem like they were always present with a ring of a bell someone came around the corner. Eventhought the property is 100's of years old it was still very nice and well done. Garden and pool area was great and breakfast was some of the best I have had when staying at similar hotels in Brasil.
Considering you are staying in the historical district of Paraty (which is where you want to stay) there is nothing bad to say. We booked for two nights and extended an additional night. First room's shower needed a new shower head as the water didn't come out very well, but the second room was fine so I don't believe it is a pressure issue.

The location is excellent, the staff is very friendly and the hotel is beautiful. Breakfast was also very good and we enjoyed the pool a lot.
The beds are not the most amazing but again we found that the quality of the beds in Brazil in general wasn't as good as in North America or Europe.

The gardens with the Cottages are very charming, we are coming here already for the lat 20 years and are never disappointed. The tasteful decoration with Brasilian art , the tranquility at night, the attentive reception desk and at last the library with always new interesting books to find Vale a pena to stay for a week
Its understandable but sad that they accept only children over the age of 15

The location was perfect, right in the historic part of Paraty but also just on the edge so you had absolutely no noise in the evening. There was also secure parking under cover (we had driven from Rio). The rooms are all very nicely appointed and the apartments relatively pprivate. There were about 20 people staying there, but most of the time you felt there were about 4-5 people around. Staff very friendly, the rooms all had wall safes (you need to ask at reception for the padlock / key but it is free). You can also ask reception for remote control for the aircon / hair dryers etc (even condoms according to the information guide in the room!). A nice pool / towels are provided (note the pool is cold!) and wi-fi was provided for free to all guests.
My only criticism of Pousada Pardieiro was the breakfast, it was a very basic continental breakfast whereas everywhere else I'd stayed in Brazil provided many more choices (i.e. scrambled egg / bacon / smoked sausages and other delights). However this was not a major issue due to the multitude of lovely restaurants / bars in the town to eat in. You will not starve in Paraty.

We stayed at Pousada Pardieiro for a weekend away from Rio and had a fantastic, relaxing time. The pousada is ideally located at the end of a quiet road in Centro Historico and features a nice garden. Superior room was big, clean and nicely decorated. Staff was extremely helpful and had a perfect knowledge of places to visit and activities nearby. The large pool area is great to cool down or have a caipirinha after an afternoon walk in Paraty. We will definitely visit again for our next trip to Paraty
